BIOGRAPHY

Robert J. Soto Rosado is a fine art photographer who uses photography as a medium for conceptual work and artistic identity, alternating between the worlds of digital and analog photography. He was born and raised on the west coast of Puerto Rico, in the Carreras neighborhood of the town of Añasco. His father’s passion for photography introduced him at an early age to the world of imagery, through cameras and photographic archives. His main motivation is to keep creating and gaining experiences that expand and develop his ability to tell stories and contribute a global perspective on Puerto Rican heritage and cultural legacy. He currently resides in San Juan, working as an independent photographer and artist after completing his first Bachillerato en Psicología with a minor in Music from the Universidad de Puerto Rico – Recinto de Mayagüez in 2019, and a Bachillerato en Artes de Comunicación con una concentración en Fotografía from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in 2025. He has participated in multiple group exhibitions, including Retratos de Prosperidad: Una Perspectiva Puertorriqueña at Plaza Las Américas (2022), presented by Centro CRECE; Segundo Jury Show Estudiantil (2024) at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón; Desde el Caño (2024), organized by Proyecto ENLACE del Caño Martín Peña; and PhotoFinish (2025) at the Arsenal de la Marina Española.
